Weekend’s art link – Yannis Moralis.

One of my personal favorites, Yannis Moralis was an important Greek painter and part of the so-called “Generation of the ’30s”. He is a well establish artist  in Greece famous for his abstract formulation of the human body, especially the female one. Rhythm, order, an absence of detail and description, and the simple palette which he gradually imposed in the course of an organic evolution underscore an archaic sense of magnificence and fullness.

If those pictures have raised a certain amount of curiosity about Yannis Moralis work you can take a look  here and here. The last link is a 2006 documentary by Stelios Charalambopoulos about him, but unfortunately is in Greek. However, I am pretty sure that his art can speak beyond the language’s barrier. Enjoy!

It is a place where architecture meets art, fashion and functionality. A place where I love to lay down and dream. Welcome to my home.
